WAITING RESTRICTIONS VARIOUS ROADS
(Note: This notice is about the introduction of new waiting and loading restrictions and changes to existing
waiting restrictions in the lengths of roads specified this notice.)
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lambeth Borough Council on 20th May 2009 made the Lambeth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 164) Order 2009 and the Lambeth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Order 1978) (Amendment No. 127) Order 2009 under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Orders will come into force on 2nd June 2009.
2. In brief, the general effect of the Orders will be to:-
(a) ban waiting by vehicles at any time in the lengths of streets specified in the Schedule to this Notice;
(b) ban waiting between 7am and 7 pm Mondays to Saturdays inclusive in that length of Lyham Road which lies on the north-east side, between a point 14 metres south-east of the southern kerb-line of Lyham Close and a point 10 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Dumbarton Road;
(c) ban waiting between 8.30 am and 6.30 pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive inclusive in that length of Fentiman Road which lies on the south-west side, between a point 7 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of Rita Road and a point 11.7 metres north-west of that kerb-line.
3. Any existing bans on waiting by vehicles in the lengths of streets specified in paragraph 2 above will be revoked.
4. The bans are necessary to prevent parking which obstructs access for vehicles and hinders the free flow of traffic.
5. If you have any enquiries about this matter, please telephone the Council’s Transport and Highways Group on 020 7926 0436.
6. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays (except bank holidays) until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made, at the offices of Lambeth Borough Council’s Transport and Highways Group, 3rd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, Brixton, London SW9 9SP.
7. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders are made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
